Last weekend, I went to the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo for a walk and beautiful irises, known as ayame or shobu in japanese, were blooming in the garden.
The vibrant purple and white of the flowers were set off beautifully by the verdant green of the grass.
It’s hard to imagine that this place is in the middle of the bustling metropolis of Tokyo.
The garden is worth visiting all year long but I think the best time is probably June when irises are fully bloomed.
I also passed by the famous power spot named ”Kiyomasa’s Well”.
It has been famous for some healers and writers and many people visit it to claim the good luck.
There were cute little turtles in the pond near the Well.
There was a wedding ceremony held that day again.
As you can see in the picture, foreign women are wearing kimonos and men are wearing traditional costume!
